A new addition to ESTA-O, the Mentorship Subcommittee seeks to support Year 1 B.Ed students in their new chapter. We have a lovely team of Year 2 Mentors who are available to provide 1:1 mentorship to those who inquire. ESTA-O also runs a Mentorship Chat Forum for all Year 1s to engage in so that they can seek advice answered by our Mentorship Subcommittee. We hope this can allow for a more positive student experience by connecting Year 1 and 2 students to establish a support system.
All Year 1 Teacher Candidates are invited to take part in the services provided by the committee:
ESTA-O Mentorship Chat Forum
Last year, we had over 100 TCs join our Chat Forum!
The Mentorship Chat Forum is a Google Space led by our Year 2 Mentorship Reps and Peer Mentors. This means that you're able to connect with a Year 2 for quick advice and resources! 1:1 Peer Mentorship
Looking for more support?
With 1:1 mentorship, you are matched to a Year 2 Peer Mentor to talk about anything B.Ed related:
Peer Mentors and their mentees are only expected to touch base for a total of 2-3 hours each month:
